My name is Keith Muchowski and I am an academic librarian and associate professor at New York City College of Technology (CUNY) in Brooklyn, NY. I also volunteer with the National Park Service at Federal Hall National Memorial. I am interested all aspects of American history with a special focus on the Early Republic, Civil War, Gilded Age and Progressive Era, the Roosevelt family, and the World Wars.
I recently completed a manuscript about Civil War Era New York City focusing on the relationship between Theodore Roosevelt Sr., Frederick Law Olmsted, Charles Loring Brace, William E. Dodge Jr., Chester Arthur, and Louisa Lee Schuyler.
Please note that the ideas expressed here are mine alone and not those of the institutions where I render my services.

I’m happy to have found your site. I do quite a bit of family history in NY and need to know as much of the state history as I can. Looking forward to reading future posts!
Thank you. That means a lot to me. I hope the research into your family history is going well. It’s such important work to keep these stories alive.
