Happy Easter.
Here are two very different images from the 1937 commemoration. Atop we see Eleanor Roosevelt with some of the 50,000+ who gathered on the White House lawn for the Easter Egg Roll. Below is an assemblage attending the annual Easter Sunrise Service, at which (unseen in the image) First Lady Roosevelt spoke. This year’s service is being live-streamed.
Despite the enormous challenges and anxieties of our present moment, take time to pause and reflect in this time of spring and renewal.

Happy Easter. It’s good to hear from you, Keith. I’ve thought of you often in NYC. I didn’t know that Arlington National Cemetery had an Easter sunrise service. I just looked it up and this years theme is Hope.
Thank you, Kathy. I hope you are doing well. Happy Easter. I did not know until recently that Arlington had such a service either. I’m glad that they have kept up the tradition, even this year with all of the uncertainty. Hope is the ideal theme for out current moment.
